Fulltone
was founded in 1991 by me (Michael Fuller) a Session
Guitarist, Composer, Performer, Electronic Tinkerer
featured in Guitar Player Magazine and winning
first place in their "Ultimate Guitarist Competition"
Blues category. Fulltone pedals were born out of a love
for music, tone, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc.
Early on I developed a love for fine vintage pedals, and my frustration
at the inconsistencies and the often fragile nature
of old gear drove me to start Fulltone. Rich,
Fat-sounding TONE TOOLS with a reliable build quality is
the goal. Fulltone
effects carry a 5 year Warranty and are built for (and
by) musicians.
We use True Bypass
switching (with L.E.D. status indicators) in all our
pedals, whenever possible. Most other pedals have a buffered output that
destroys the performance of most pedals that follow in the signal-chain.
Don't be fooled by the claims of "Pure Bypass," "Hard Bypass"...etc. These are just catch phrases to divert
your attention away from the fact that those pedals
are not true-bypass. I designed and manufacture the Fulltone
3PDT , the world's only Super-Duty Triple Pole Double
Throw footswitch.I developed it during the 90's and then a certain large NY
based effects company bribed my molds from the company
who (supposedly) exclusively made these for me. You'll see these switches in all the
other company's effects..they're a blue switch. Problem
is, they used my old rejected molds, which were prone to
failure..ones that I have since redesigned. And now a
bigger problem for the Blue Switch: ROHS, the UK directive, stipulates NO
LEAD and NO LEAD solder requires much higher heat...said
Blue switch is plastic (ours is bakelite;) and plastic
cannot withstand the higher heat....the body gets hot,
the terminals come loose and your Blue switch fails.
I have manufacture my own
custom Potentiometers because what has been offered as
"Industry Standard" has a 20% failure rate within 2
years...not acceptable. To see how we do things

All Fulltone
pedals are 100% handmade by us at our shop in Southern
California using full-sized top-notch components. In
the Choralflange, a rather complex pedal as analog
designs go, there
are NO miniature surface mount chips, capacitors, or
resistors. I have our wire custom-made, and it's 22
gauge copper stranded with no tin-coating, so it stays
flexible over the years without breaking. You might
not know or care about components, but you'll certainly
hear the FAT, Clean, Warm results. And I practice the same philosophy on all
my other pedals. Overkill? Maybe. But this is something
you'll keep the rest of your playing days. It's actually
amazing that we offer our pedals at comparable prices
to other brands that you think are Boo-teek.
